OVER 30 YEARS OF DIESEL ENGINE EXPERIENCE!

Aaron Vickers a native of Montgomery, AL moved to Charleston, SC after retiring from the United States Navy.  During his 20 years of service, Aaron worked as a Diesel Mechanic on multiple ships. His first ship was the USS Nicholas FFG-47 stationed in Norfolk, VA., where Aaron served as the first crew – better known as a “Plank Owner.” From there, he spent the next few years in Scotland aboard the USS Los Alamos AFDB-7.  In Scotland, Aaron was promoted to Lead Petty Officer (LPO) over the entire engineering work personnel.  

 

After his Scotland tenure, he led a group of skilled mechanics onboard the USS Simon Lake AS-33.  The tour on the USS Simon Lake would eventually bring Aaron back to the United States.  Upon returning to the United States, he transferred to the USS Enterprise CVN-65.  Aboard the USS Enterprise, his reputation, integrity, and mechanical expertise, earned Aaron the job of working directly for a 4 Star Admiral, Cutler Dawson. Aaron was responsible for taking care of the Admiral’s barge. He was also responsible for keeping the Admiral’s boat in top shape.  Aaron received many compliments regarding his meticulous care of the Admiral’s boat.  On several occasions, he would accompany Admiral Dawson to pick up dignitaries such as President George Bush Sr., Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Prince of France just to name a few.

 

Aaron has received the following training/certifications: Training Including: Master Diesel School, Hydraulic System, Volvo Penta Diesel school, Cummins Diesel, Onan Generator, Westerbeke Generator, DeutzDiese, Services IPS UNITS, Service Zeus Drives, and service several generators in hotels in the low country.

 

After retiring from the Navy, Aaron worked for a local Diesel Company for several years. An entrepreneur at heart, in 2005, Aaron decided to start his own company -“Oil In A Days Work.”  Today, his company provides daily opportunities for Aaron to continue his love for diesel engines and for his commitment to serving others.

 

Aaron is married to Diane Vickers, who is  also from Montgomery Alabama. Diane has worked in Law enforcement for over 15 years, and is Co-Owner of Oil In A Days work.
